Winchester Commemorative - Cowboy
In Honor of one of Americas greatest institutions and the heroes of the West, Winchester made available the Cowboy Commemorative in 1970.
The Cowboy features a straight grip stock and extended forearm of satin-finished American walnut. The round barrel carries the engraved inscription "Cowboy Commemorative". The sights are dovetail front and adjustable semi-buckhorn rear. The squared buttplate and barrel bands are nickle plated.
The nickle plated receiver is roll engraved on th eleft side with a cowboy on a bucking bronco flanked by the words "Bold Men" and "Brave Land". The saddle ring is blued. The right side is engraved with spurs and a lariat. The upper tang is engraved with "Model 94 Winchester". The loading gate, hammer and trigger are blued.
The nickle plated medallion, featuring a cowboy on horsebackroping a steer, is embedded in the stock.
The serial number, with the prefix "CB", is located on the front underside of the receiver. 27,549 were produced at New Haven.
