Details, details. Top quality, adjustable iron sights are included, but the gloss-finished aluminum alloy receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounts. The steel barrel has a handsome gloss finish and a precision crowned muzzle to protect the rifling.

A feature unique to the BLR is the folding hammer that provides an extra margin of safety when placed in the half-cock position. Hammer has four positions: Full cock, half-cock, folded and the dropped (fired) position.

Unlike most lever-action rifles, the BLR uses a detachable box magazine rather than a tubular magazine. The box magazine allows the BLR to be offered in a wide variety of modern calibers that use pointed bullets. The stout multi-lug locking bolt design improves accuracy. A rack and pinion lever-action is glass smooth and the trigger travels with the lever to minimize the chance of finger pinch.
