STEP INTO THE FUTURE OF BALLISTIC HELMETS

This high-cut helmet showcases advanced protective technology, and at just 3 lbs, is an extremely lightweight ballistic helmet. Constructed from advanced ballistic fibers, it offers solid protection, achieving backface deformation results that outperform the vast majority of commercially available ballistic helmets (read more about backface deformation).

Outdoors under clear skies, a person in military camouflage wears the Premier Body Armor Fortis Ballistic Helmet, night vision goggles, a headset, and a tactical vest near trees and open land.

Now with updated aesthetics, the Fortis Ballistic Helmet includes two new color options and more helmet sizes, ensuring a perfect fit for even more users. The design not only optimizes the helmet's capacity for energy dispersion but also keeps it considerably lighter, reducing wearer fatigue and enhancing mobility when compared to standard Advanced Combat Helmets (ACH).

While many ballistic helmets stop handgun rounds, few are proven under the same fragmentation tests used for military helmets. Independently tested to MIL-STD-662F, this helmet achieved a V50 of 2218 ft/s (676 m/s) with 17-grain fragmentation simulator projectiles (FSP), exceeding the U.S. Army’s 650 m/s threshold.

IT’S TRUSTED PROTECTION NOT JUST FROM BULLETS, BUT FROM THE BLAST AND DEBRIS THAT COME WITH THEM.

The Fortis Ballistic Helmet is not just about protection; it is also designed for functionality, featuring a 7075 aviation-grade aluminum NVG shroud and glass-reinforced polycarbonate rails. Available in sizes S/M, L/XL, and 2XL, it serves a broad user base, ensuring an optimal fit with its sophisticated padding and adjustment system. This Level IIIA ballistic helmet offers a level of protection that is competitive with helmets three times its cost. This value reflects the helmet's innovative approach, employing modern engineering and materials to provide essential protection, comfort, and utility without the premium cost.

Testing Highlights:

  • NIJ Level IIIA Ballistic
    • 9mm @ 1,420 ft/s 433 m/s (433 m/s) Average
    • .44 Magnum @ 1,404 ft/s (428 m/s) Average
    • Zero penetrations

  • Backface Deformation (BFD):
    Just 8.95 mm – 65% lower than the NIJ max of 25mm (9mm FMJ RN @ 1400 ft/s - 426.72 m/s)

  • Fragmentation V50 (MIL-STD-662F, 17gr FSP):
    V50 = 662.6 m/s (2,174 ft/s) – Surpasses U.S. Army ACH/ECH spec (650 m/s)

  • VPAM HVN 2009 Level 3:
Tested and passed the VPAM HVN 2009 Level 3, an elite European standard for multi-hit durability and trauma reduction.

Helmet Sizing

The Fortis Ballistic Helmet comes in three sizes; S/M, L/XL and XXL.

How to Pick Your Helmet Size:

  • Use a flexible tape measure to measure around your head. Place it over your eyebrows and ears, and see where it meets.
  • Don’t have measuring tape? Use a string or a shoelace instead, then measure it with a ruler.
  • Picked the wrong size? No worries! We make it easy to swap it.

Easy Tips for a Perfect Fit:

  • Measure your head later in the day. Heads can be slightly bigger then.
  • Think about how you'll be wearing the helmet. Will your hair make a difference, or will you wear something under the helmet? This might mean you need a bigger size.
  • Measure your head three times to be really sure of your size. Use the average of those three as your real measurement.
