Thyrm SwitchBack 3.0 Duty Flashlight Ring with Pocket Clip: Ranger Green

The SwitchBack 3.0 Duty expands Thyrm’s line of flashlight accessories, integrating features that matter for those operating in the harshest environments. We increased the size of the finger ring to work well with patrol gloves and added more aggressive traction features to ensure it’s secure during use. We also shortened the MOLLE clip to allow you to stow your light deeper into pouches on plate carriers and duty belts. As with all SwitchBacks, the finger ring provides a repeatable index point for drawing and operating your flashlight. It can be used with all modern flashlight/firearm techniques including the “SwitchBack Technique” and allows users to retain the flashlight during reloads, malfunction clearances, and other critical tasks.

Compatibility

• The SwitchBack 3.0 Duty is compatible with the same lights as the SwitchBack Large 2.0 and SwitchBack 3.0 Deep Carry Flashlight Rings. Compatible lights are on the left, and non-compatible lights are on the right of the table shown.
• Tailcaps larger than 1.004 inches (2.55016 cm) in diameter are not compatible with the SwitchBack 3.0 Duty Flashlight Ring.

Installation

The SwitchBack mounts between the light’s tailcap and body, just like other models of the SwitchBack. Once mounted, it will not come off.

For installation, first try installing the SwitchBack on your light without use of the o-ring or aluminum washer. Simply unscrew the tailcap, add the SwitchBack, and rescrew the tailcap back on. If the light does not activate upon use of the tailcap switch with the SwitchBack installed, try installing the aluminum washer as shown in the diagram below. Streamlight and Fenix models tend to require the aluminum washer, but may not, depending on the tailcap features of the light. Modlite, Elzetta and Surefire models do not usually require the aluminum washer, but users may find that addition of the rubber o-ring will help to stabilize the position of the SwitchBack. Start with the small o-ring and only use the larger o-ring if necessary.
