Description
In 1973, one of the nations most renowned law enforcement services, the Texas Rangers, celebrated its 150th anniversary. Winchester honored this outstanding group of Texans by issuing a limited edition of 5,000 Texas Ranger Commemorative Model 94 Rifles.
This rifle, sanctioned by the Texas Ranger Commemorative Commission, was available only in texas.
The regular carbine features a semi-fancy American walnut forearm and stock with a square combed, curved buttplate. All of the metal parts are blued. The sights are curved post front and semi-buckhorn rear.
The blued receiver is plain with the saddle ring on the left side. Th upper tang carries the inscription "Model 1894 Winchester".
The medallion, a facsimilie of the "Texas Ranger Star", is embedded on the right side of the buttstock. The serial number, with the prefix "RA" is located on the front underside of the receiver. 4,850 were produced at New Haven.
