Winchester Commemorative Model 9422 Boy Scouts of America Rifle: 22 S/L/LR, 20.5" Barrel, Ser# BSA2051

For 1985, Winchester celebrates the 75th anniversary of scouting in America with the production of the 9422 Boy Scouts of America Commemorative. Today, scouting both 4 1/2 million active members plus millions of scout parents and alumni adding strength to America and her ideals.

The gun, which commemorates this proud organization, features a straight grip stock and forearm of satin-finished American walnut with XTR-style checkering. The round barrel is engraved with “Boy Scouts of America” in pewter letters. The barrel band and magazine bands, hammer, lever, receiver and crescent buttplate are pewter plated, while the trigger is blued. The Boy Scout also comes with a hammer extension. The sights are hooded front and buckhorn rear.

The right side of the pewter-plated receiver depicts scenes of scouting surrounded by the scouting law. The left side depicts more scouting scenes surrounded by the scouting oath, and both sides are surrounded with scouting knots. There is no saddle ring. The upper tang is engraved with “1910 • 1985.”

The pewter-plated medallion depicts the Boy Scout emblem and is embedded in the right side of the buttstock.

The serial number, with the prefix “BSA,” is located on the front underside of the receiver. No more than 15,000 of these guns will be produced.

In addition, special Winchester .22 Long Rifle cartridges, nickel-plated and bearing the 75th anniversary headstamp will be available in decorative commemorative cartons.

Also, optional giftware is available for purchase with the Boy Scout. Available is the “Pride In The Past . . . Footsteps To The Future” print and signed and numbered on the poster. Also available are the custom suede leather case with western fringe and the Boy Scout logo, and the wooden gun rack of solid cherry with walnut stain, featuring the Boy Scout logo, gold stamped on leather and the Winchester brand.
